There are many places to send your money, if you have already made a decision about where to send your donation, then disregard this. If however, you are looking for more information or a suggestion then please consider one of these.

Marcus and Elias were living in an orphanage run by Gladys Silvester Thomas and supported by the United States Foundation for the Children of Haiti. Gladys was born in Haiti, received her RN in USA and returned to make a difference in her country. She also runs the only pediatric hospital in Haiti as well as a home for children with aids and other disabilities. This is a lean organization that has a long history in Haiti.
The pediatric hospital is one of the few hospitals left standing, and if full to overflowing with earthquake survivors of all ages.

Partners in Health, PHI, has been working in Haiti for over 20 years. 

The work of PIH has three goals: to care for our patients, to alleviate the root causes of disease in their communities, and to share lessons learned around the world.Based in Boston, PIH employs more than 11,000 people worldwide, including doctors, nurses and community health workers. The vast majority of PIH staff are local nationals based in the communities we serve.

Both of these organization have a long history in Haiti. Both of them employ local Haitians for many of the leadership positions. They are dedicated to the country and will be working long after the worlds attention is no longer focused on Haiti.
